The East Oakland Sports Center Introductory School of Dance through the City of Oakland is designed to share the Performing Arts through introductory and intermediate classes in Gymnastics, Martial Arts, and Dance (including Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, West African, and Modern Dance styles).

Specialists have been gathered together to provide excellent instruction in their area(s) of expertise. Participants learn movement skills and techniques as well as an introduction to the history of their chosen activity. Students have a chance to grow in a safe and encouraging community setting, where they will develop discipline, respect, and self-confidence.

An education in the Performing Arts is incomplete without the chance to perform, so opportunities are provided throughout the year in various events including Winter and Spring Showcases, Oakland Dance Festival, A Holiday Tradition at the Dunsmuir-Hellman Estate, the Children’s Holiday Parade, Play Day in the Plaza, The Great Egg Hunt, San Francisco State University Children’s Holiday Concert, and more.

Join us for a movement experience that is sure to foster the health, wellness, and education of you and your family through the Cultural and Performing Arts. Come out and move the OPR Way at the EOSC Introductory School of Dance!
